DFDA urges food business operators to obtain license.

The Department of Food and Drugs administration vide its press release dated 14th October 2020 has directed all Food Business Operators who are operating roadside eateries, food carts vans, and home based food business operators, selling food articles without Registration Certificate/Licence are requested to operator their food businesses after obtaining either the Registration Certificate or Licence under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 and are adhering to the sanitary and hygienic norms stipulated under the Scheduled 4 of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006.

Further, all home based food business operators, fast food suppliers, tiffin suppliers, bakers, etc. operating from their homes without obtaining the Registration Certificate/ Licence under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and marketing their items through social media platforms shall obtain the licence.

All Food Business Operators may visit the FSSAI website foscos.fssai.gov.in, for obtaining the said licence.
