The Securities and Exchange Board of India vide its notification dated 8th October 2020 has extended the facility for conducting extraordinary meetings of unitholders of REITs and InvITs through video conferencing and other audio-visual means till December 31.
SEBI in its earlier notification dated 22nd June 2020, permitted InvITs/ REITs to conduct meetings, other than the annual meetings of unitholders, the facility for conducting meetings of unitholders through VC or OAVM was provided up to September 30, 2020.
However, based on the representations received for extending the facility of VC or OAVM for conducting extraordinary meetings of unitholders for some more time due to the pandemic, Sebi has decided to extend the facility till 31st December 2020.
