The government of Madhya Pradesh brings in amendment to Madhya Pradesh Pharmacy Rules, 1978.

The State Government of Madhya Pradesh in its gazette notification dated 15th September 2020 has amended the Madhya Pradesh Pharmacy rules 1978, in which it has created a Council Fund which shall consist of an anticipated grant received from the state government and the amount shall be utilized for payment and allowance to the offices and employees of the council and for implementation of the scheme prepared for the welfare of the registered pharmacists and their families.

Through this amendment Rule 98 which deals with the power of the registrar has been substituted as follows: the registrar shall have power to give orders and shall exercise control over the staff and the duties of various categories of the staff shall be such as many assigned to them by the registrar from time to time.

Further as per the amendment in case if the registration certificate is lost or destroyed the holder may, at any time during which such certificate is in force, apply to the registrar under section 39 of the pharmacy Act for a fresh certificate and the registrar may if he thinks fit on furnishing satisfactory proof as to the identity of the applicant and proof as to the identity of the applicant and proof of issuing original certificate, grant such certificate on payment of such fee as may be prescribed by the council.
