Government of Bihar extends the deadline for compliance with anti-profiteering provisions of Bihar GST Act, 2017

The Government of Bihar has notified an amendment to its previous notification dated 9^th June 2020. The present notification was issued on 9^th September 2020.

Previously, the deadline for completion of any compliance under the Bihar Goods and Service Tax (Bihar GST) Act, 2017 was extended to 31^st August 2020. However, this only applied to those compliances that had to be completed between 20th March 2020 and 30^th August 2020 and that were not completed within the requisite time.

Notwithstanding, the present notification enlarges the scope of the original notification of June 2020. It now adds that compliances in respect of anti-profiteering under the Bihar GST Act, 2017 that fall within a specified period shall be extended up to 30^th November 2020. The specified period in this regard is 20^th March 2020 to 29^th November 2020.

In other words, any compliance in respect of anti-profiteering that was required to be completed by any date between 20^th March 2020 and 29^th November 2020 and could not be completed by that date, can now be completed till 30^th November 2020.
