The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways notifies the Central Motor Vehicles (Eight Amendment) Rules 2020

The Central Government has notified the Central Motor Vehicles (Eight Amendment) Rules 2020. The notification was issued on 31st August 2020 and the Rules shall come into force from that same date.

The Amendment Rules stipulates for a minor change to additional safety measures required in relation to motor vehicles. The change is specifically in respect of the first – aid kit to be carried in a motor vehicle. The amendment now omits the requirement of carrying a tube of Feracrylum of 1% gel in the kit.

However, a kit comprising of a tube of antiseptic cream containing 0.5% of Centrimide B.P. in a non-greasy base, sterilised dressings, sterilised elastic plaster, waterproof plaster, gauze and an elastic bandage for wounds and burns must still be carried in the vehicle.
