The State Government of Himachal Pradesh vide its gazette notification dated 9th July 2020 has published the Industrial Disputes (Himachal Pradesh Amendment) Ordinance, 2020 applicable to the State of Himachal Pradesh.
The Amendment is brought under section 22 which deals with Prohibition of strikes and lock-outs in which no person employed in a non-public utility service shall go on strike in breach of contract without giving to the employer notice of strike, as herein-after provided, within six weeks before striking.
Under section 25f (b)no workman employed in any industry who has been in continuous service for not less than one year under an employer shall be retrenched by that employer until the workman has been paid, at the time of retrenchment, compensation which shall be equivalent to sixty days average pay [for every completed year of continuous service] or any part thereof in excess of six months.
