Food Safety and Standard Authority of India vide its notification dated 18th June 2020, extended the timeline for compliance with Food Safety and Standards(Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Second Amendment Regulations, 2019 relating to revision in sub-regulation 2.3.12 dealing with Restriction on Sale of Common Salt. The extension is made up to 1st January 2021.
The recent regulation was made considering the difficulties faced by Food Business Operators on account of the current COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure uninterrupted food supply during lock down.
