The Directorate General of Foreign Trade vide its notification dated 18th June 2020 has removed the restriction on the export of both active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and formulation of the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ).
DGFT in its earlier notification dated 25th March, imposed a ban on the export of Hydroxychloroquine and its formulations, in a bid to ensure its availability in the domestic market due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, though this amendment the department has lifted the ban on export.
