The director-general of foreign trade vide its notification dated 1st June 2020 has prohibited the outward shipment of alcohol-based hand sanitizers in containers with dispenser pump.
Amid COVID-19 outbreak, the government had earlier banned the exports of all types of sanitizers, and later limited the restriction only to alcohol-based sanitizers in May. further through this notification it has now prohibited “Alcohol-based Hand Sanitizers” exported in containers with the Dispenser Pump, falling under any ITCHS Code including the HS Codes, however Alcohol-based Hand Sanitizer exported in any other form/packaging is “free” for exports.
