Delhi Amends Medical Termination of Pregnancy Rules to Reflect Updated Terminology

It may be recalled that the Delhi government had issued a notification dated January 18, 2024 introducing the updated formats for Form-I, Form-II, and Form-III. These formats are essential for the proper documentation of Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) cases, as mandated by the law. Now, by the present notification, the Delhi government has further updated Form-II wherein the words “mental retardation” have been replaced with “women with intellectual disability”.

Government Extends Deadline for Mandatory BIS Certification of Television Sets

Recognizing the need for a smooth implementation process, the government engaged in discussions with stakeholders to address any potential challenges. Subsequently, the industry requested additional time to ensure full compliance with the new regulations. Considering the discussions with stakeholders and the industry’s request, the Central Government has now extended the date of implementation for the mandatory BIS certification of television sets to October 26, 2025.

NOTTO Urges Immediate Compliance on Mandatory Brain Stem Death Reporting to Boost Organ Donation

The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) has issued a stern reminder to all registered hospitals to submit a monthly proforma on Brain Stem Death cases to the respective State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organizations (SOTTOs) for onward transmission to NOTTO by the 7th of each subsequent month. They are also mandated to display the “Required Request Display Boards” in designated areas like ICUs and emergency wards to facilitate compliance with BSD certification and reporting.

NOTTO Issues Urgent Reminder for Mandatory Transplant Data Reporting and Registration

The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) has issued an urgent reminder to all registered transplant hospitals regarding the mandatory reporting of organ transplantation data and registration on the National Transplant Registry. NOTTO has expressed serious concern over the persistent failure of many registered transplant hospitals to submit daily and monthly data on transplantation activities and to register transplantations on the National Transplant Registry.

Online Application Portal Launched for Extension of Revised Schedule M Compliance Deadline

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has announced the launch of an online system for pharmaceutical manufacturers to apply for an extension of the timeline to comply with the revised Schedule M of the Drugs Rules, 1945. Pharmaceutical manufacturers who meet the criteria for seeking an extension of the revised Schedule M implementation timeline are encouraged to utilize the online application portal on the ONDLS website by May 11, 2025. This online platform is the only accepted method for submitting such applications.
