Textiles Ministry Extends Deadline for Medical Textiles QCO Compliance for SMEs

Recognizing the potential challenges faced by SMEs in implementing these new regulations, the Ministry has granted an additional extension until April 1, 2025, for compliance with the Quality Control Order (QCO) for medical textiles. In addition to the SME extension, the Ministry has also announced a six-month transition period, ending June 30, 2025, for all manufacturers and importers to clear their existing legacy stock.

CDSCO Adds To Functionality Of Online Applications For Clinical Trials

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has announced a shift towards online applications for adding clinical trial sites and changing Principal Investigators. CDSCO is now accepting these submissions through the SUGAM portal. The CDSCO has also implemented a “deemed approval” system for applications submitted through SUGAM.

Food Authority Announces New Timeline for Labeling Regulation Compliance

The FSSAI has set a standard enforcement date of July 1st for amendments related to the FSS (Labelling and Display) Regulations, as well as any labeling changes specified in other FSS Regulations. This date is subject to a minimum of 180 days from the date of official notification of the amendments. The Authority has also stipulated that in emergency situations, the implementation and enforcement timeline may be decided on a case-by-case basis.
