Radar Equipment for measurement of speed of vehicles being included under Legal Metrology (General) Rules, 2011
The rules will enhance accuracy, reliability, and standardization in traffic speed measurement, ensuring compliance with Legal Metrology Rules. These Rules are applicable to microwave Doppler radar equipment for the measurement of traffic speed on roads, which in brief are called “radar”. The Rules provides that all such equipment shall be verified and stamped to ensure their correctness for the protection of human beings.
Ministry Directs EPFO to Ensure UAN Activation for Employees through Aadhaar-based OTP
To ensure that maximum number of employers and employees benefit from the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme announced in Union Budget 2024-25, the Ministry of Labour & Employment has directed EPFO to work in a campaign mode with Employers and ensure activation of Universal Account Number (UAN) of employees. The rules provides that directions to suspend any telecommunication service or any class of telecommunication services shall only be issued by suspension order, and for reasons to be recorded in writing by a competent authority.
Telecommunications (Telecom Cyber Security) Rules, 2024
Every telecommunication entity shall conduct periodic telecom cyber security audits of its network to assess resilience to threats on telecom cyber security through its own mechanisms and through the certified agency in such intervals as may be specified by the Central Government on the portal, and share the audit report with the Central Government, which may undertake further audits if so required.
Securities and Exchange Board of India (Buy-Back of Securities) (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2024
The amendment provides that in case any member of the promoter/promoter group has declared its intention to not participate in the buy-back, the shares held by such member of the promoter / promoter group shall not be considered for computing the entitlement ratio.

West Bengal Expands Jurisdiction of Labor Tribunals and Courts
The jurisdiction of these tribunals and courts for adjudication disputes/cases has been broadened to include a wider range of labor laws, including the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, the Employees’ Compensation Act, 1923, the Payment of Wages Act, 1936, and the Minimum Wages Act, 1948. The government has empowered the heads of directorates and judges-in-charge to distribute cases among tribunals and courts to ensure efficient disposal.
