FSSAI Waives Registration Fees for Hawkers

Effective September 28, 2024, hawkers will no longer be required to pay registration fees under the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011. Hawkers will receive a registration certificate valid for five years, eliminating the previous option to choose a shorter duration.

Pharmacy Institutions To Celebrate Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Day

The Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA) is commemorating October 10th, 2024, as Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Day. The PCI has urged all pharmacy institutions to participate in cGMP Day by conducting at least one-hour programs on the topic. Pharmacy institutions are requested to submit photos of their cGMP Day activities to IDMA.

Government Proposes To Revise State Code For Telangana on Boiler Engravings

The amendment seeks to replace the existing entry “Telangana TS” with “Telangana TG” in the regulation on engravings of registry plates of boilers. This change aligns the regulations with the official state code for Telangana. Objections or suggestions if any shall be sent to the authority by November 15, 2024.

Government Amends Plant Quarantine Rules to Strengthen Import Regulations

Imports of seeds, plants for propagation, and regulated articles like insects, microbial cultures, and soil must now be made through specific Regional Plant Quarantine Stations (RPQS) in Amritsar, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Kandla, or other notified points of entry. Imports of germplasm, transgenic plant material, and genetically modified organisms are now restricted to New Delhi Airport only.
