Paid leave on the event of Bye-elections declared by Government of Haryana

The Government of Haryana on 28th June 2024, announced holiday with wages on account of Bye-elections on 10th July 2024 (Wednesday) only for those employees employed under any shops and commercial establishments falling with the jurisdiction of the State of Haryana and who have been enrolled as voters in Legislative Assembly Constituencies of 04-Badrinath & 33-Manglaur of Uttarakhand and 34- Jalandhar West (SC) of Punjab to enable them to cast their votes in respective constituencies.

The Gujarat Laws (Amendment Of Provisions) Ordinance, 2024

The Government of Gujarat on July 1, 2024, issued the Gujarat Laws (Amendment Of Provisions) Ordinance, 2024 to further amend the provisions of the Acts made by the State Of Gujarat to give effect to the references to the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023 in place of reference to the Indian Penal Code, 1860, the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and the Evidence Act, 1872 respectively in the said Acts.

Proposed Revision Of Coal Plant Emission Control Compensation Mechanism

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) is proposing revisions to the compensation mechanism for coal-based power plants installing emission control systems. The revisions are based on aspects of recovery of depreciation. operation & maintenance expenses, cost of debt & equity of emission control system and interim relief in the form of provisional tariff.

The Dental Council of India (DCI) has published updated lists of defaulting dental colleges on matters concerning anti-ragging as: List of defaulter Dental Colleges who have not conducted/uploaded Anti Ragging Orientation Program 2023-24 Report on DCI Anti Ragging Online Module and List of defaulter Dental Colleges who have not uploaded Anti Ragging Report, Oct 2023 on DCI Anti Ragging Online Module.

NMC Warns Against Misleading Media Reports

The NMC has observed that some media outlets have falsely claimed that the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) has finalized approvals on 113 applications for establishing new medical colleges. The NMC has only listed applications with finalized MARB decisions. These decisions can be either approval or rejection.
