Delhi-NCR Migrates Inter-city Bus Services To Cleaner Modes

Upon deliberations with all concerned stakeholders, it was decided that older polluting buses (BS-III and BS-IV) entering Delhi-NCR from neighboring states will be phased out. These buses will be replaced with cleaner options such as Electric Vehicles (EVs), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses and BS-VI diesel compliant buses (latest emission standards). This directive applies to buses operated by state governments, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and private entities.

JERC Amends Standards of Performance for Distribution Licensees in Goa and UTs

The amendment regulations introduce new performance indices for licensees which must be calculated and reported, with the data made accessible on their websites. Licensees are required to compensate consumers for failure to meet performance standards, adjust bills within 90 days, and establish an online grievance platform within six months.

The regulations address over-generation, tariff design, and financial principles for cost and return calculations. They also require developers to recover statutory charges and allow for deviations, regulation relaxation, and implementation issue resolution.
