Goa Government Proposes Amendments To Child Labor Regulations

The proposed amendments to the child and adolescent labour regulations include renaming the rules to include “Adolescent” and defining key terms. The new rules aim to raise public awareness, allow children to help their families and work as artists under strict guidelines, and omit restrictions on certain occupations. They also establish procedures for payments from the Child and Adolescent Labour Rehabilitation Fund and limit adolescents to working no more than 5 hours a day in applicable establishments.

Government Declares New Services As Public Utility Services

The central government has issued a series of orders extending the designation of certain critical industries as “public utility services” under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. These industries are considered essential for national security and economic well-being.
