Pellet Plants Now Require Prior Environmental Clearance

The amendment has introduced Pellet plants in the List of Projects or Activities Requiring Prior Environmental Clearance. Pellet Plant is now added as a new primary processing category within this list. The amendment specifies that all standalone pellet plants, regardless of capacity, are categorized as Category B subject to general conditions.

Use of Facial Authentication Technology by the EPS pensioners for Digital Life Certificate Submission

The use of facial authentication method requires installation of two applications, viz. “Aadhaar Face RD” and the “Jeevan Pramaan” in their smartphones. The operator authentication for these applications are carried out through Aadhaar linked mobiles numbers. Detailed guidelines are provided in the Apps to ensure a successful face scan. Once the scan is completed, the DLC submission is confirmed on the mobile screen along with the Jeevan Pramaan ID and PPO number, completing the process conveniently from home.

FSSAI Notifies NABL Accredited Laboratories for Western and Southern Region

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has modified its list of laboratories accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). These laboratories are notified for the purposes of carrying out analysis of food samples taken in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

Honey Grading and Marking Rules, 2024

The rules apply to Blossom Honey, Carvia Callosa Honey, and Honeydew Honey. The labels of honey products must include information on grade, variety, date of manufacture, nutritional information, and contact details of the authorized packer. Specific labeling is required for Honeydew Honey, Pressed Honey, and honey classified by floral source.

New Draft Rules To Protect Camels During Transportation in India

During hot weather between 12 deg. C to 30 deg. C, camels must be transported at night to minimize heatstroke risk. A valid health certificate as specified in Schedule M shall accompany with each consignment camels and a certificate as specified in Schedule L shall accompany each consignment of poultry.
