Paid Holiday Declared for General Election 2024 in Madhya Pradesh

The Government of Madhya Pradesh has taken a commendable step to bolster democracy by declaring 19th April, 26th April, 7th May, and 13th May 2024 as paid public holidays. This move is to ensure that every employed person can cast their vote in the Lok Sabha Election.

The Government of Ladakh has declared May 20th, 2024, as a paid holiday, coinciding with the General Elections to the Lok Sabha. This initiative ensures that every employed individual, regardless of their work schedule, including shift workers and daily wage earners, can exercise their right to vote.

The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, in its revised form, includes offences like acts of secession, armed rebellion, subversive activities, separatist activities, or endangering the sovereignty or unity. Notably, the sedition law now explicitly defines acts of terrorism, a term absent in the previous Indian Penal Code (IPC). The new legislations also grant magistrates increased authority to impose fines and broaden the scope of declaring someone a proclaimed offender.

Clarification regarding auctions conducted by Ministry of External Affairs

Ministry of External Affairs shall directly perform Aadhaar authentication of the bidders for the performance of Aadhaar authentication, on a voluntary basis, for authentication of bidders during registration on e-auction portal for Toshakhana for auctioning of gift items received by the Government of India functionaries from the various sources.
