Revised Convention between the Government of The Republic of India and the Kingdom of Spain for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion

The revised convention provides that royalties and fees for technical services may also be taxed in the Contracting State in which they arise and according to the law of that State, but if the recipient is the beneficial owner of the royalties or fees for technical services, the tax so charged shall not exceed ten per cent of the gross amount of royalties or fees for technical services.

BIS Revises Standards for Microbiology Tests of the Food Stuff

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has revised certain standards for microbiology tests of the food stuff. These notifications were published on March 21, 2024. These standards have been established on March 15, 2024. The previous versions of these standards shall stand withdrawn on April 14, 2024.

Registration of New Plant Varieties Permitted

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has added eight more plant varieties to its list of crop species eligible for registration. Persons eligible to obtain registrations can now also obtain registration for these additional plant varieties.
