RBI has published the Reporting and Accounting of Central Government transactions for March 2024. The Government of India’s decision to set April 10, 2024, as the closure date for residual transactions in March 2024 underscores the significance of timely reporting. It necessitates special arrangements by receiving branches to ensure that all payments and collections made on behalf of the government towards the end of March are duly recorded within the same financial year. These arrangements, including courier services, facilitate the swift transfer of challans and scrolls to Nodal/Focal Point branches, thereby streamlining the accounting process.

MARB Reviews PG Medical Course Applications

MARB has communicated on an additional online applications for new PG medical courses or augmentation of seats from medical institutions. Institutions are requested to acknowledge receipt and take necessary action within the stipulated timeline. MARB  has also issued communications to medical institutions/ colleges regarding the submission of deficient documents/ information.

New Regulations for Nurse Practitioner in Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing Program Introduced

Designed for registered B.Sc. nurses, the NPMH program equips participants with advanced nursing skills to deliver specialized care to individuals with mental health issues.

National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Profession Formed

The Principal of the Government Physiotherapy College and President of the Gujarat State Council for Physiotherapy has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Commission. Additionally, the Commission includes other members who will contribute to its objectives and functions as laid down under its Act and Rules.

New Regulations Set for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery Program

Under these regulations, admission to the Ayurvedacharya (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) program will be based on merit in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate, conducted by an authority designated by the Central Government. The program’s duration is set at four years and six months for academic sessions, followed by a compulsory one-year rotatory internship.

Central Government Mandates Aadhaar for National Mission on Edible Oils Scheme

Under the new regulations, any eligible beneficiary wishing to benefit from the Scheme must possess an Aadhaar number or apply for Aadhaar enrolment if they haven’t done so already. However, until Aadhaar is assigned, individuals may avail benefits under the Scheme by producing alternative documents such as Aadhaar Enrolment ID slip, along with specified identity documents, subject to verification by designated officers.

Drugs (Second Amendment) Rules, 2024 Fosters Changes in Drug Packaging

By the present amendment, where the number of tablets (coated or uncoated)/Capsules (hard or soft gelatin) is more than 10, the pack size of Tablets/Capsules shall contain multiples of 5 or 7. This adjustment is expected to provide manufacturers with more versatile options in packaging sizes. Notably, the drugs “Glyceryl Trinitrate” and “Isosorbide Dinitrate,” along with their corresponding entries, have been omitted from the schedule on pack sizes of drugs for retail sale.
