Chief Minister of Gujarat listed the 200 crore municipal green bond of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) after performing the Bell Ringing Ceremony in Ahmedabad, alongside Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and other senior officials. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has opted for the 200 crore municipal green bond initiative to accelerate and achieve the target of Net Zero for Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Development set by Prime Minister, thereby becoming the first Municipal Corporation in the state to list such a green bond.

Government of Telangana decided to bring in a New Sand policy

Chief Minister of Telangana decided to bring in a New Sand policy for its sale in the state. The Chief Minister suggested to the officials the new policy should be formulated in accordance with the needs of the people along with generating revenue to the government. The officials have been asked to study the Sand policies adopted by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and other states in the country.

Karnataka Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) (Amendment) Rules, 2024

These rules may be called the Karnataka Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) (Amendment) Rules, 2024. They shall come into force from the date of publication in the official Gazette. Amendment of rule 20.- In the Karnataka Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Rules, 1983, in rule 20, in sub-rule (1),- (i) for the Table I(a) and entries thereunder, the following shall be substituted, namely:- Table I(a) Consent fee for consent to establish or consent to expansion or consent to operate for Industries or Organization other than activities specified in Table I(b) and Table I(c).

DPIIT holds consultation with representatives of Indian Cement Industry on CIS portal for collection of cement production data

Cement production data is used by government for policy decisions and for calculating the index of industrial production. The representatives of cement industry assured DPIIT that the cement production data will be provided regularly and agreed that the accurate and authentic production data of the cement industry will be beneficial for all. The industry representatives also assured that remaining plants will be onboarded on CIS portal by 31st March 2024.
