FSSAI CEO Embarks On Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra In Kardnur Village
As a part of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a nationwide initiative, the CEO of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) undertook a visit to Kardnur village in the Sangareddy district of Telangana. This visit took place on December 24, 2023 and a press release was issued on January 2, 2024.

Over 1 Crore Screened for Sickle Cell Disease under National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission
The National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission operates in a mission mode, focusing on screening, prevention, and management of sickle cell anemia in all tribal and high-prevalence areas across states and union territories in India. The Ministry aims to build on this momentum, continuing its efforts to reach the set target of screening 7 crore people within the stipulated three-year period.
GRAP Stage-III Revoked Following Significant Progress
The AQI of Delhi has been progressively on the rise, which is 55 points below the threshold for invoking GRAP Stage-III actions (Delhi AQI 401-450). The forecast by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) suggests a likelihood of sustained improvement in AQI, remaining in the Very Poor/Poor category in the next few days.
