Kerela Issues Consumer Price Index for Agricultural & Industrial Workers

The Department of Economics & Statistics, Thiruvananthapuram, has officially released the Consumer Price Index (CPI) Numbers for Agricultural Labourers and Industrial Workers for the month of October 2023. The announcement was made through the department’s official communication dated December 7, 2023.

As per previous Government Orders of the Labour and Skills (E) Department, Government of Kerala, published in the Kerala Gazette extraordinary these Consumer Price Index (CPI) Numbers are applicable to employees in employment under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.

The Director General of Economics & Statistics, ascertained the CPI Numbers for the month of October 2023 under the Minimum Wages Act. These numbers are crucial for determining the Cost of Living Index for employees covered by the Act.
