IFSCA Permits International Branch Campuses and Offshore Educational Centres at GIFT-IFSC to avail infrastructure services from Academic Infrastructure Service Providers
International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has introduced the “Setting up and Operation of International Branch Campuses and Offshore Education Centres Regulations, 2022.” Foreign universities and educational institutions has expressed a need for a robust framework that facilitates the provision of infrastructure and support services in GIFT IFSC. Such services are envisioned to streamline the establishment of IBCs/OECs by offering comprehensive end-to-end campus infrastructure facilities. To operationalize this vision, a circular has been issued, outlining conditions for IBCs and/or OECs to avail themselves of infrastructure and support services from Academic Infrastructure Service Providers (AISPs).
Ministry of Law and Justice issues Clarification regarding Fast Track Courts
Finance Commission (FC) had recommended the setting up of 1800 Fast Track Courts (FTCs) during 2015-20 for speedy trial of specific cases of heinous nature, civil cases related to women, children, senior citizen, disabled persons, persons infected with terminal ailments etc. and property related cases pending for more than 5 years.
New measures to protect interests of unorganised labour
Ministry of State for Labour and Employment has issued clarifications regarding New measures under social security schemes to protect interests of unorganised labour. As per the Unorganised Workers’ Social Security Act, 2008, the Government is mandated to provide Social Security to the workers of unorganized sector by formulating suitable welfare schemes on matters relating to life and disability cover, health and maternity benefits, old age protection etc.
Clarification regarding E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022
Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) advised State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs) /Pollution Control Committees (PCCs) to carry out regular drives for checking e-waste processing in informal sector time to time. Actions, such as, constitution of teams for carrying out drives, issuing of notices, closure of operation, seizing the e-waste against the informal processing are being taken by the respective SPCBs/PCCs. CPCB has estimated generation of e-waste based on the sales data and average life of notified EEE.
75 Boats and 300 Personnel deployed for oil spillage mitigation work in Ennore
Oil boomers were put in place to contain the spread of oil. An Oil skimmer machine was pressed into service today to extract oil from the creek. Four more oil skimmers are planned to be deployed in the next two days. In order to speed up the mitigation work, 75 boats and 300 personnel have been pressed into service.

The PCI envisions the implementation of Aadhaar authentication in its DIGI-PHARMed Portal. This will propel total digitalization of registration or enrollment services. It will also ensure authentication of end users such as pharmacists, faculties, students and pharmacy institutions. It will also bolster user satisfaction , promote ease of doing business, processing of registration applications. National Repowering & Life Extension Policy for Wind Power Projects – 2023
This policy seeks to permit repowering or replacement of older generation turbines. These turbines will be replaced with newer generation turbines that are more efficient. Moreover, they also contemplate the refurbishment of wind turbines for life extension beyond design life. This shall be subject to safety and performance assessment.
