People can seek health advice in the health facilities / medical camps / mobile medical and public health units visiting the areas. All children in the age group of 9 months to 15 years residing in flood affected areas irrespective of previous immunization status should be given single dose of Measles Rubella Vaccination.
Warning Statement to be Included on ‘Pan Masala’
As per directions dated 22nd May, 2023, Pan Masala must have a declaration that “The warning statement must cover 50% of front-of-pack of the label”. The enforcement of this requirement is deferred for a further period of 6 months from 1st November, 2023.
Revised Wheat Stock Limits for Traders/ Wholesalers, Retailers, Big Chain Retailers and Processors
Entities exceeding the prescribed limits are mandated to bring their stocks within the limits within 30 days of the notification. Central and State Government officials will closely monitor and enforce these stock limits to prevent any artificial scarcity of wheat.
NPPA Takes Measures to Ensure Price Transparency in Pharmaceutical Market
As per existing regulations, every manufacturer producing a scheduled or non-scheduled formulation for sale must prominently display the maximum retail price (MRP) on the label of the container, along with the words “Maximum Retail Price” and “inclusive of all taxes.” Additionally, manufacturers are required to issue a price list to dealers, who must prominently display it on their business premises.
Initiatives Propel Organ Donation Awareness in India
As part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, organ donation is being promoted as a “Jan Andolan” or people’s movement through social media channels. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) has launched a pledge campaign and a slogan competition on the MyGov platform to encourage public participation. Under the “Angdaan Mahotsav” initiated in July 2023, awareness programs focusing on deceased donor organ donation are being conducted nationwide.
Initiatives to Advance Mental Healthcare Nationwide
Under the District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) essential mental health services are made available at the Community Health Centre (CHC) and Primary Health Centre (PHC) levels. These services encompass outpatient care, assessment, counseling, psycho-social interventions, continuing care and support for individuals with severe mental disorders, drug provisions, outreach services, ambulance services, and a 10-bedded in-patient facility at the district level.
