MNRE extends Waiver of Domestic Content Requirement for Solar Cells

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has extended the waiver of the domestic content requirement for solar cells under Component C of PU-KUSUM Scheme. This Office Memorandum was issued on 11th September, 2023.

It may be recalled that the MNRE had previously waived domestic content requirement for solar cells for projects awarded on or before 20th June, 2023.

Furthermore, in view of the difficulties faced by stakeholders and SIAs it has been decided that the domestic content requirement for solar cells under Component C of PU-KUSUM Scheme will be waived till 31st March, 2024.
