MARB publishes number of seats allocated for UG and PG Programmes

The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has uncovered a concerning issue of forged and fake permission letters being issued to multiple medical colleges on behalf of the Member/President of MARB. It has been revealed that these unauthorized communications falsely claimed to grant approval for various colleges, although no such official permissions were sent by MARB.

To address this alarming situation, MARB has taken immediate action by publishing a public notice. This notice was published on 9th September, 2023.

In this notice, MARB has attached a list of colleges along with the total number of seats allocated for both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs. These approvals were granted by MARB for the academic year 2023-24.

The National Medical Commission wishes to emphasize that the attached list represents the genuine approvals, Letters of Permission (LOPs), or renewals for the current academic year. Any other documents claiming approval should be treated with skepticism.

In light of these developments, MARB has urged all stakeholders and the general public to exercise caution and refrain from taking any action based on potentially fake or forged Letters of Permission. If any discrepancies or suspicious communications are noticed by stakeholders or members of the general public, it is essential to report them promptly to the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission. Reporting such discrepancies will ensure that necessary actions are taken swiftly and without delay to maintain the integrity of medical education and healthcare standards.
