SEBI on 16th August has issued the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Facilitation of Grievance Redressal Mechanism) (Amendment) Regulations, 2023. The amendment provides that following entities shall redress investor grievances promptly but not later than twenty-one calendar days from the date of receipt of the grievance:

  1. Merchant Banker
  2. Registrar to an issue and share transfer agent
  3. Debenture trustee
  4. Banker to an issue
  5. Asset management company
  6. Collective Investment Management Company
  7. Know Your Client Registration Agency
  8. Investment Adviser
  9. Research Analyst
  10. Real Estate Investment Trust
  11. Infrastructure investment trust
  12. Intermediary
  13. Portfolio manager
  14. Vault manager

The Board may also recognize a body corporate for handling and monitoring the process of grievance redressal by the entities operating in the securities market.
