The Central Government vide notification dated 17th August, 2023 has issued the Consumer Protection (Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions) (Amendment) Rules, 2023. The amendment provides the revised rate of fees payable for filing complaints before district, state or national consumer disputes redressal commissions.

Every complaint filed shall be accompanied by a fee in correspondence with the Value of goods or services paid as consideration, in the form of crossed Demand Draft drawn on a nationalised bank or through a crossed Indian Postal Order in favour of the President of the District Commission or the Registrar of the State Commission or the Registrar of the National Commission.
