Clarifications regarding management of E-waste
MoEF & CC has comprehensively revised the previous set of Rules and notified the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 in November, 2022 and the same is enforce since 1st April, 2023. These new rules intend to manage e-waste in an environmentally sound manner and put in place an improved Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regime for e-waste recycling wherein all the manufacturer, producer, refurbisher and recycler are required to register on portal developed by CPCB.
Environmental Compensation Funds for Battery Waste Management
The environmental compensation collected under Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022 shall be utilised in collection and refurbishing or recycling of uncollected and non-recycled or non-refurbished waste batteries.
Salient features of e-Shram portal
eShram portal is meant to register and support the unorganised workers by providing them a Universal Account Number (UAN). eShram portal captures details of workers such as name, permanent address, current address, occupation, educational qualification, skill type etc. eShram portal allows registration under 30 broad occupation sectors and around 400 occupations.
Eligibility conditions for availing benefits under the Building and Other Construction Workers scheme
It was further advised that in order to facilitate registration of BOC migrant workers under the BOCW (RE&CS) Act, 1996, creation of facilitation centres/help desks should be there to help BOC workers, conducting of special drive with focus on migrant BOC workers and to ensure no discrimination be faced by them in terms of registration and delivery of benefits.

PCI opens Pharmacy Portal for Consideration of Approval for 2023-2024 Academic Session
The PCI states that those institutions that had applied by paying PERC charges for academic year 2023- 2024 have been considered for extension of approval for the academic year 2023-2024. The institutions that haven not applied and not paid the PERC charges will not be considered for extension of approval.

A request has been made to the respective States and Union Territories (UTs) to maintain strict vigilance on Food Business Operators (FBOs) involved in manufacturing, repacking, and selling fresh, surface-treated, and minimally processed fruits & vegetables.
