The Government of Assam vide notification dated the 11th of July, 2023 has issued the Assam Food Security (Amendment) Rules, 2023. The amendment has revised the eligibility criteria for citizens to be beneficiaries of the Act.
The amended rules has revised the threshold of income to qualify for food security benefits provided under the Act. The threshold the raised from “Rs. 2,50,000.00 (Two Lakhs Fifty Thousand)” to “Rs. 4,00,000 (Four Lakhs).”
