The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has published the format for submission of details of confirmed purchase or supply orders for genset or genset engines. This format was published on 4th July, 2023.

It may be recalled that the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC) had issued an Office Memorandum (OM) dated 22nd June, 2023, requesting the manufacturers of genset and genset engines to submit details of orders to the CPCB. The CPCB has now published the format for submission of details of confirmed purchase or supply orders.

It may be further recalled that the MoEFCC had decided that the exemption from revised standards for genset and genset engines would be available to only if the following conditions were fulfilled:

  • All genset and genset engine manufacturers and suppliers must submit details of confirmed purchase/ supply orders received from end users or their suppliers
  • This applies to orders received up to 30th June, 2023
  • These details must be submitted to CPCB by 31st July, 2023
  • Only those manufacturers and suppliers who comply with these conditions will be entitled to avail of the said exemptions
