Government Revises Crop Residue Management Guidelines to Efficiently Manage Paddy Straw
Under the revised guidelines, techno-commercial pilot projects for the Paddy Straw Supply Chain will be established through bilateral agreements between beneficiaries/aggregators, such as farmers, rural entrepreneurs, cooperative societies of farmers, farmers’ producer organizations (FPOs), and panchayats, and industries that utilize paddy straw.
CCEA Approves Special Package of Schemes for Farmers
One of the key components of the package is the continuation of the urea subsidy scheme, which ensures the availability of urea to farmers at a fixed price of Rs 266.70 per 45 kg bag, excluding taxes and neem coating charges.
Delhi Witnesses Improved Air Quality in First Half of 2023
During the first six months of this year, Delhi experienced a notable increase in the number of days with ‘Good to Moderate’ air quality on the AQI. In fact, excluding the period of significantly reduced anthropogenic, industrial, and commercial activities in 2020 due to the Covid-19 lockdown, the current year has witnessed the highest number of ‘Good to Moderate’ air quality days in the past eight years (2016-2023).

SEBI clarification regarding Implementation of circular on upstreaming of clients’ funds by Stock Brokers (SBs) / Clearing Members (CMs) to Clearing Corporations (CCs)
It is clarified that SBs/CMs may receive funds from clients beyond the prescribed cutoff time for upstreaming subject to the condition that there shall not be any further movement of funds from that account (i.e., a debit freeze) till the opening of upstreaming window on the next day.
Guidelines on Information Security Practices for government entities
These guidelines are a roadmap for the Government entities and industry to reduce cyber risk, protect citizen data and continue to improve the cyber security ecosystem in the country. They will serve as a fundamental document for audit teams, including internal, external, and third-party auditors, to assess an organisation’s security posture against the specified cybersecurity requirements.
I-T Department Conducts Verification of Reporting Entities
Information is received about financial transactions of taxpayers from Reporting Entities, such as Banks, Forex Dealers, Sub-Registrars, etc. In order to explain the legal obligations and processes, as well as to address difficulties faced by the Reporting Entities, outreach programmes are being regularly organised by the Department across the country. This is another initiative of the Department to facilitate ease of compliance.
