BIS withdraws 24 Indian Standards


The Bureau of Indian Standards has issued a notification withdrawing 24 Indian Standards. This notification was issued on 30th May, 2023.

These Indian Standards range from a period from 1971 to 1998. Pertinently, all the 24 Indian Standards stand withdrawn from 29th May, 2023.

Some of these Indian Standards include:

  • IS/IEC/TR 61859 : 1997 Guidelines for Radiotherapy Treatment Rooms Design
  • IS/IEC/TR 61852 : 1998 Medical Electrical Equipment — Digital Imaging (DICOM) — Radiotherapy Objects
  • IS 13450 (Part 2/Sec 30) : 2008/IEC 60601-2-30 : 1999 Medical Electrical Equipment Part 2 Particular Requirements for the Safety Section 30 Essential Performance of Automatic Cycling Non-Invasive Blood Pressure Monitoring Equipment
  • IS 11701 : 1986 Guide for Testing and calibration of Ultrasonic Therapeutic Equipment
  • IS 8945 : 1987 Electrical Measuring Instruments for Explosive Atmospheres
