CBIC notice regarding acceptance of electronic certificate of origin issued under India-Sri lanka FTA

Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs on 3rd May, 2023 issued notice regarding acceptance of electronic certificate of origin e-CoO, issued by Issuing Authority of Sri Lanka, as a valid document. The seals and signatures are used to verify authenticity of e-CoO further verified using the unique QR code printed on certificate. In case of doubts it shall be referred to FTA Cell.

It must be ensured that e-CoO must be mandatorily uploaded on e-Sanchit for preferential benefit and other particulars must be entered carefully. For defacement of CoO, a printed copy of e-CoO shall be submitted to customs officer for cross checking. Above procedure may be suitably implemented in Customs formations under your jurisdiction.
