The Government of Tamil Nadu earlier granted permission to serve liquor in marriage halls, banquet halls as well as in non- commercial premises such as hosting household celebrations, events and functions and parties. Now, vide notification dated 24.04.2023 has revoked this permission clarifying that special license would be granted only for international/ national summits, events, conferences, celebrations and festivals in convention centers and conference halls on commercial premises and for international sports events in stadiums.
