Central Government to promote AYUSH treatment through Health Tourism
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and Ministry of Ayush have been working with Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) and Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) to develop a ‘One Step’ Heal in India portal for Promotion of Medical Value Travel through the ‘Heal in India’ initiative. Ministry of Ayush signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), Ministry of Tourism to work together for the promotion of Medical Value Travel in Ayurveda and other traditional systems of medicine.
Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Portfolio Investors) (Amendment) Regulations, 2023
The amendment mandates that in case of any direct or indirect change in structure or common ownership or control of the foreign portfolio investor or investor group, it shall, as soon as possible but not later than seven working days, bring the same to the notice of its designated depository participant.
MoHFW updates on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Health Sector

Government of India has launched Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) which aims to create a platform enabling interoperability of health data within the health ecosystem so as to create longitudinal Electronic Health Record (EHR) of every citizen.
MoHFW clarifies on Mental Health Services in Primary Health Centres
The press release lists the various wayst the Government is implementing the National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) in the country. The District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) component of the NMHP has been sanctioned for implementation in 716 districts for which support is provided to States/UTs through the National Health Mission. Facilities made available under DMHP at the Community Health Centre (CHC) and Primary Health Centre (PHC) levels, include outpatient services, assessment, counselling/ psycho-social interventions, continuing care and support to persons with severe mental disorders, drugs, outreach services, ambulance services etc
MoHFW clarifies on Medical Colleges under PPP Model
The regulations of National Medical Commission (NMC) allow establishment of a medical college under Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. The appropriate Government may allow the utilization of the facilities of a hospital owned and managed by it for establishing a Medical College by a person/agency /trust/society /company by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding for this purpose.
Ministry of Ayush promotes Ayush Activities in Foreign Countries
The press release states that Ayush Information cells are set up in foreign countries with the mandate to disseminate authentic information about Ayush systems of Medicine and to undertake various Ayush promotional activities. The Ministry of Ayush has supported the establishment of 39 Ayush Information Cells in 35 foreign nations.
