DPIIT publishes “Operational Guidelines for financial assistance for undertaking the initiatives for promotion of Geographical Indications (GIs)”
DPIIT has adopted the National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy in 2016 to develop an IPR ecosystem as IPR are significant drivers of the socio-economic, cultural and industrial development the country. One of the objectives of National IPR policy was awareness and outreach including GI awareness and promotion.
FSSAI further updates its list of Recognised Food Testing Laboratories
The present list includes the validity of the laboratories’ NABL accreditation, scope of testing as on 6th March, 2023 for the purpose of carrying out the analysis of food samples taken under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and Rules and Regulations made thereunder.
FSSAI encourages States/ UTs to step up surveillance to curb spike in food poisoning and adulteration
The States/UTs have been advised to plan their special surveillance drive considering the rise of food poisoning and adulteration cases of commonly consumed food products during the seasons like festivals, marriages, events etc. CEO also advised the States/UTs and Regional Offices to lift about 5 Lakh Samples by March 2024.
