Where DG set or heavy machinery is set up, poly urethane of atleast 20 mm thickness must be used on ground surface for controlling noise and vibration. Additionally, suitable noise barrier/ acoustical treatment as an enclosure of the noise generating machine must be provided.
Odisha State PCB publicises Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022
The SPCB reiterates that as per the said Waste Management Rules, there is no longer a requirement for dealers of Lead Acid Batteries to register with the SPCB. It is the responsibility of the consumer to discard waste batteries from other waste streams especially mixed and domestic waste streams.

Centre issues guidelines to Ensure Safety in Transportation of Dangerous Goods
The guidelines, known as ‘IS 18149:2023 – Transportation of Dangerous Goods — Guidelines’, have been formulated under the Transport Services Sectional Committee, SSD 01, of BIS, and are expected to set a new benchmark for the safe handling and transportation of hazardous materials across the country.
