The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has issued Guidelines for Streamlining the Supply of Indented Medicines by Authorised Local Chemists (ALCs). These guidelines were notified on 13th February, 2023.

All ALCs are required to stamp ‘CGHS Supply not for Sale’ on ever medicine strip, pack, flap, bottle, tube, sachet, vial supplied to CGHS with indelible ink. CMOs I/C shall check the online indent before submission to ALC to ensure that non-permissible items and items that are available in the wellness centre are not indented.

PGB shall be forfeited where any ALC exists midway through the contract irrespective of whether or not notice has been given.

Additionally, the guidelines also increase the penalty for delay in supply or non-supply of indented items by the ALC.
