Goa Ports (Amendment) Rules, 2023

The Government of Goa on February 07, 2023, issued the Goa Ports (Amendment) Rules, 2023. As per the amendment, no Government riverine land shall be used for any purpose by any person without prior written permission of the Captain of Ports and without making advance payment of rental charges.

Once new permission is issued for the usage of riverine land, rental charges shall be paid in advance and even if the allotted space is not used, the amount paid shall be not refunded.

A penalty at the rate of 5% shall be imposed for failure to renew permission before its expiry and for annual renewal of permission inspection fees of Rs. 1000/- shall be charged. Also, for the issue of new permission, inspection fees of Rs. 2000/- shall be charged. For the issue of new permission for repairs of riverine bund fees of Rs. 10,000/- shall be charged.
