The Government of Mizoram has issued the Mizoram Code on Wages Rules, 2022. These Rules have been issued in supersession of the Mizoram Payment of Wages Rules, 1992, and the Mizoram Minimum Wages Rules, 1992. The Rules were issued on 20th January, 2023.
The Rules, inter alia, provide for the manner of calculating the minimum rate of wages. They also specify the norms for the fixation of the minimum rate of wages.
Additionally, the Rules also include the manner of recovery of excess amounts, the designated authority for approval for imposition of the fine, manner of exhibiting notices, and procedure for the imposition of fines.
