UGC directs Autonomous Bodies, PSUs and Higher Educational Institutions to hold special drive on Sexual Harassment
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has stated that the Ministry of Education has decided that a special drive be conducted in all Autonomous Bodies (ABs)/ Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)/ Higher Educational Institutions. The drive must include a series of activities that must be intimated to the gender sensitization division of UGC by December 11, 2022. The institutional Internal Complaints Committee should also conduct a special drive to review the pending cases and take appropriate action before 9th December, 2022.
NMC Requests Government Medical Colleges to Relieve Professors when Deputed on NMC Duty
The National Medical Commission (NMC) issues a Circular dated 29th November, 2022 that professors or associate professors of Government Medical Colleges are deputed as Assessors or Experts by NMC. This circular is addressed to all Government Medical Colleges. Whenever the NMC assigns duty to any Professor or Associate Professor, the Government medical colleges are requested to relieve them immediately.
NMC Publicises Fake Letter Issued in its Name
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a Public Notice highlighting a fake letter issued in its name. The letter states that “Avicenna International Medical University (Bishkek) is recognised by National Medical Commission and Indian students can study here to become a doctor”. The NMC categorically states that the above letter is fake and has not been issued by the National Medical Commission.
UGC Requests Higher Educational Institutions to Host Meditation and Mental Health Sessions
The Ministry of Culture on 24 November 2022 has collaborated with the Art of Living foundation and launched a campaign “Har Ghar Dhyan” to conduct one hour introductory sessions on meditation and mental health. The sessions will be conducted by trained faculty from the Art of Living. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has requested higher educational institutions and their affiliated colleges/ institutions to host these introductory sessions on meditation and mental health.
Operational Circular for listing obligations and disclosure requirements for Non-Convertible Securities, Securitized Debt Instruments, and/or Commercial Paper
The operational circular has provided the format for submission of a statement indicating the utilization of issue proceeds of listed Non-Convertible Securities to the Stock Exchange(s), by the listed entities.
Payment of GST on SEBI turnover fee for Cash, Derivatives, Currency Derivatives, Commodity Derivatives, Interest Rate Derivatives, New Debt Segment, and Repo Segment Turnover
The turnover fee along with applicable GST will be debited to the respective settlement (valan) account of Trading Members on the 3rd working day of the next month i.e., December 05, 2022. The turnover across segments and the amount to be debited towards the turnover fees including GST at the rate of 18%, will be made available in EXTRANET (current date > EQ > Transaction) on December 01, 2022.
Extension of the validity of the Pre-Shipment Inspection Agency
The validity of (PSIAs) which is completing its original tenure of three years as of December 03, 2022 is extended till December 31, 2022.
FIT INDIA Portal for all students and staff of Higher Educational Institutions to update data relating to fitness activities
All the higher educational institutions and their affiliated colleges/ institutions are requested to encourage students and staff register themselves on FIT INDIA website at https://fitindiahe.education.gov.in and update data relating to fitness activities conducted at different time points.
University Grants Commission (Categorization of Universities (only) for Grant of Graded Autonomy) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2022
Universities may offer courses in the Open and Distance Learning mode, without approval of the Commission, provided it satisfies full the conditions laid down under the regulations, by whatever name they orc called, pertaining to open and distance learning mode notified by the UGC from time to time.
Revised due date for commencement of SCOMET Updates 2022
The revised list of Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) as per SCOMET Updates 2022 shall come into effect after 30 days from November 30, 2022.
