The Insecticides (Amendment) Draft Rules, 2022.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on 27th October 2022, notified the Insecticides (Amendment) Draft Rules, 2022 and has invited objections or suggestions from the public which shall be addressed to the Joint Secretary (Plant Protection), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi-110001 or through email at jspp-dac@gov.in within 30 days.

Through this amendment, it has been notified that no person shall use a label or leaflet that has not been amended in accordance with these rules after the expiry of six months from the date of coming into force of these rules:

Provided also that no insecticide or its package bearing a label or leaflet that has not been amended in accordance with these rules shall be distributed, sold, exhibited for sale or stocked, after the expiry of one year from the date of coming into force of these rules.

Further under regulation 19 which specifies the Manner of Labelling, in which it has notified that the Equal prominence shall be given to the Brand name and Common name.
