The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide circular dated 21 October, 2022 has clarified that importers can request testing of import consignment samples at referral laboratories. The referral laboratories shall, in such cases, test only for the parameters not tested by the primary laboratory or for the parameters for which non-compliance was detected by the primary laboratories.
This order shall remain in force till further orders are issued.
