FSSAI allows issue of provisional NOC for food consignments

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) vide circular dated October 18, 2022 has extended the facility of Provisional NOC to registered Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs). FBOs whose food consignments are imported and have AEOs certification from customs shall declare and submit the undertaking/declaration in a form as prescribed to the concerned Authorized Officer.

Authorized Officers are directed to carry out a visual inspection and upon satisfaction, shall draw samples and issue Provisional No Objective Certificate (P-NOC) without waiting for the analysis report from the laboratory. The Authorized Officer shall issue the final No Objection Certificate, on receipt of the analysis report from the laboratory, if the product conforms to the FSSAI standards.
