Centre issues 63 show cause notices to the manufactures/importers of weighing and measuring instruments to seek details of compliance.

To protect and safeguard the interest of consumers, the manufacturers/importers of the weighing & measuring instrument are required to get the approval of model (Section 22) of their weighing & measuring instrument, manufacturing license (Section 23)/ importer registration (Section 19) and verification/stamping of weighing & measuring instrument (Section 24) under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009.

DGFT draft amendment to SCOMET List

SCOMET authorization will not be required, for export and/or re-export of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles including drones remotely piloted air vehicles and autonomous programmable vehicles, in general cases. The applicant exporter shall submit an application for getting a onetime authorization under GAED through online SCOMET portal and attach information in proforma-ANF 2O.

DGFT revises policy regarding Tariff Rate Quota authorization

The revised policy states that the Tariff Rate Quota(TRQ) authorization for items under Tariff head 7108, shall also contain Importer Exporter Code (IEC) of the nominated agencies as notified by RBI (in case of banks) or DGFT (for other agencies) or qualified jewellers as notified by International Financial Services Centers Authority (IFSCA), GST Identification Number(GSTIN) of the jewellery manufacturer to whom TRQ is being issued.
