Department of Pharmaceuticals invites application for Vitamin B1 under the category ‘Other Chemical Synthesis based KSMs/Drug Intermediates/APIs’ under Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for Bulk Drugs.
Under this Scheme, the Eligible Product ‘Vitamin B1’ was categorised under the head‘Fermentation based niche KSMs/ Drug Intermediaries/ APIs’ and applications were invited accordingly. However, representations were received subsequently that the Vitamin B1 can be manufactured through chemical synthesis route also. Therefore, the classification of the Eligible Product: ‘Vitamin B1’ has been changed to ‘Other Chemical Synthesis based KSMs/ Drug Intermediaries/ APIs’.
NMC issues advisory to medical colleges on installation of cameras.
As per the advisory, minimum of 25 cameras has to be installed covering all the important places. one at the main entrance of the hospital and college, two at the patient registration centre, and five cameras at the OPDs depending on the number of OPDs in the medical college and it should cover Medicine OPD, Surgical OPD, Gynaecological OPD, Paediatrics OPD, Ortho OPD etc.
FSSAI revises the maximum limit of the moisture content in mixed millet flour from 11% to 13%.
Based on various representations received from the stakeholders, for reconsideration of the values in respect of the quality parameters, FSSAI has decided to keep the enforcement of Alcoholic acidity and ‘Total dietary fibre’ for Mixed Millet Flour parameter in abeyance till 31st December 2022.
NMC grants relaxation for BCMET completion for faculty promotion in medical college.
Para 6 of the “Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2022” stipulates norms for faculty appointment and promotion in broad specialties (MD/MS) and super specialties (DM/M.Ch) in a permitted/recognized medical college. It, inter alia, stipulates that for promotion to the post of professor, associate professor, the faculty should have completed BCMET from institutions designated by the NMC.
PCI issues circular on registration of ethics committees for biomedical and health research with DHR.
The New drugs and Clinical Trials Rules, 2019 makes it obligatory for all the entities/institutions/researchers whether in public or private, who are conducting or intending to conduct biomedical health research, involving human participants are required to get themselves registered with the designated authority in the department of health research in terms of provisions of chapter IV of the new drugs and clinical trials rules, 2019.

Revised rates of GST applicable to services provided by FSSA
The prior circular notified to all stakeholders that GST at the prescribed rate would be applicable on all services provided by FSSAI and that the rates for various services such as the issue of Central license, product approval fee, food safety mitra fee, import clearance fee, etc, will be revised accordingly. Those revised rates are issued through the new circular.
SEBI clarification on the prior guidelines for Settlement of Running Account of Client’s Funds lying with Trading Member (TM)
The running account of funds for all clients shall be settled on first Friday of each quarter (October 2022, January 2023, April 2023, July 2023) by trading members.
