FSSAI notifies Draft Amendments to the Health Supplements, Nutraceutical, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medical Purpose, Functional Foods and Novel Foods Regulations.
Food for special medical purpose shall include food specially prepared for weight reduction and intended as total replacement of normal diet. Food for special medical purpose may also include Foods intended for Special Diagnostic Purpose with the prior approval of the Authority.
The Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Amendment Regulations, 2021.
The regulation Prescribes the labelling requirements of pre-packaged foods and display of essential information on premises where food is manufactured, processed, served and stored and also covers the general requirements of labelling of pre packaged foods such as Name of food, Name of food, List of ingredients, Nutritional information, Calculation of Nutrients.
The Food Safety and Standards (Vegan Foods) Regulations, 2021.
The Food Authority may specify guidelines for endorsement of vegan logo and annual market surveillance for such products. The concerned registration or licensing authority shall carry out surveillance of the registered establishment at least once in a year.

These regulations shall not be applicable to infants up to the age of 24 months. Foods intended for infants up to the age 24 months are specified under the Food safety and Standards (Food for infant nutrition) Regulations, 2020.

Regulation 2.3.14 restricts the sale of food articles in the premises where the sale of any insecticide is also carried out and the person should serve/sell the food in plastic articles which conform to food grade plastic.
CBDT clarification regarding extension of time limit to apply for revocation of cancellation of registration in FORM GST REG-21
Where the due date of filing of application for revocation of cancellation of registration falls between 1st March, 2020 to 31st August, 2021, the time limit for filing of application for revocation of cancellation of registration is extended to 30th September, 2021.

The revised position limits shall also apply to Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and Category II FPIs that are individuals, family offices, and corporates and not for Category I FPIs and Category II FPIs (other than individuals, family offices, and corporates).
