RBI Increases interchange fee and customer charges for ATM transactions.

The Reserve Bank of India on 10th June 2021 has increased the ATM Interchange Fee from Rs 15 to Rs 17 on every financial transaction and from ₹5 to ₹6 for non-financial transactions in all centres which shall be effective from August 1, 2021.

The Customers are eligible for five free transactions  every month from their own bank ATMs and also eligible for free transactions (inclusive of financial and non-financial transactions) from other bank ATMs viz. three transactions in metro centres and five transactions in non-metro centres.

The maximum limit of customer charges levied on customers after the free ATM transaction received every month by the customers of any bank (Bank Customer) has been increased from Rs 20 to Rs 21. This increase shall be effective from January 1, 2022.
